Every year I say it to myself…”I can’t believe it’s July!”
Half the year is over!
And what do I have to show for it?
Definitely not as much as I planned back in January.
Summer is an interesting two-edged sword for entrepreneurs like myself…crazy folks with kids. How the heck are we suppose to get work done, fill the pipeline for the fall, enjoy the family and make sure our kids don’t sit in front of screens all summer?
Once I find the magic answer, I’ll be sure to let you know.
One thing I know for sure (in addition to the fact that work never really stops) is that goals created on an annual and quarterly basis just aren’t working for me anymore. And I’m honestly not sure if they ever did.
I create these grandiose S.M.A.R.T. goals, broke them down into quarters, blink and then don’t have a clue what happened to the time.
It’s like we’ve given ourselves too much time to complete them – a full 365 days.
That’s why the book “The 12 Week Year” sounds so intriguing. Not to mention the subtitle “Get more done in 12 weeks than others do in 12 months” is something I’m sure we would all like to master.
So I decided to start a virtual book club of sorts!
In other words, I will read the book, gather the highlights and then send out my learnings from each chapter.
Sounds fun right?
Are you in?
I’d love for you to join me!
Send me a quick email and let me know if you want to be part of my little virtualbook club and get my chapter highlights from “The 12 Week Year” by Brian P. Morgan.
(you honestly don’t even need to go buy the book if you don’t want to…as actually applying the principles is more important)
Also let me know one of your biggest struggles when it comes to goal setting. More importantly, goal execution and completion. The later is definitely where I struggle the most.
Alright! Let’s go! Here’s to an (even more) productive remainder of the year. And to a new 12 week mindset!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
